The Evening of Blessing is the passion of Patrick Hansen, who dreamed of having a yearly event to help those who are not able to provide a traditional Thanksgiving meal. To make this dream come true, Patrick contacted Rich Duchniak of the Oak Creek Community Center to host this event. Rich and staff of the Oak Creek Community have been a key part of this event's success and their commitment to this event is truly remarkable. This event would not be made possible if not for the work of Rich Duchniak and his staff at the Oak Creek Community Center.
The Dinner
Unlike other dinners throughout the various communities, we are proud to serve our patrons with a first class experience. Once you arrive through the Community Center's doors, you are greeted by our hosted who directs you to one of our elegant tables. Our tables are set with a fine linen cloth, linen napkins and silverware. After you are seated, you are then greeted by our friendly servers who will serve all of your beverages, food and dessert. Our traditional dinners are served on china.
Staff
The serving staff of this event is comprised of 100% volunteers. Volunteers come from many local organizations such as Harvest Church, St Matthew's Church, Parkway Church, Oak Creek Assembly of God, Oak Creek High School's National Honor Society and Oak Creek East Middle School's Ambassador Program. We always look forward to adding new groups and people to our fantastic list of volunteers.
